Definition of photosynthesis: the process by which green plants and some other organisms use sunlight to synthesize nutrients from carbon dioxide and water. Photosynthesis in plants generally involves the green pigment chlorophyll and generates oxygen as a by-product.

light energy from the sun is being converted to chemichal potenstial energy(which is stored energy). Photosynthesis is a chemical process that takes place in the presence of sunlight, wherein plants make their food and build stores of energy. This phenomenon occurs in chlorophyll containing plant cells.

There are mainly two steps :
The light reaction which occurs in grana (thylakoid lumen ) in which water is broken down into releasing of oxygen .  ATP and NADPH are by products that will used in dark reaction later

The dark reaction  which occurs in stroma in which co2 is reduced to glucose it is a complex process completes by calvin cycle
