Human evolution is the evolutionary process that led to the emergence of anatomically modern humans, beginning with the evolutionary history of primates – in particular genus Homo – and leading to the emergence of Homo sapiens as a distinct species of the hominid family, the great apes.

The sequence of evolutionary history of modern man is as follows :-

1) The last dinosaurs disappeared 7 crore years ago . Monkey like animals were said to evolved from ancestors similar to modern lemurs.

2) Ape like animals (Aegyptopitheus) evolved around 4 crore years ago , by disappearance of tail , enlargement of brain and improvement in functioning of hand

3) In Africa ape like animals evolved into gorillas and chimpanzees around 2.5 crore years ago( Dryopithecus)

4) Human like animals lived on land as forests declined due to dry environment .Human like animals used there hands for eating and other work around 2 crore years ago ( Ramapithecus)

5) Around 40 crore years ago apes grew larger in size and became more intelligent.

6) Around 20 lakh years ago human like animals shared morphological similarities with the membars of genes Homo,and thus skilled human developed

7) Around 15 lakh years ago human walking with an erect posture evolved . It may have existed in China , Indonesia and asian continent

8) Around 1 lakh years ago Evolution in developing brain started . Discovery of fire .

9) Around 50,000 years ago old man evolved such that they becamed class- wise man.

10) Wiseman practiced agriculture,cattle-rearing and established cities . cutural development took place. around 10,000 years ago
