a+b is a binomial.

multiply a+b by itself using Polynomial Multiplication: (a+b)(a+b) = a2 + 2ab + b2.

Now take that result and multiply by a+b again: (a2 + 2ab + b2)(a+b) = a3 + 3a2b + 3ab2 + b3.
