Marxism is a form of communism in which there are two distinctive classes
the production class ( bourgeoisie)
the working class (the proletariat)

THE IDEA OF THE TWO CLASSES WORK TOGETHER INORDER TO CREATE A SOCIETY IN WHICH THERE IS NO NEED FOR CURRENCY OR PRIVATE OWNERSHIP BUT INSTEAD IT IS A SOCIETY IN WHICH THE CLASSES WORK TOGETHER TO ACHIEVE COMMON GOALS . IT IS AN IDEA THAT HAS YET TO B PROVEN AS SUCCESSFUL WHEN PUT INTO PRACTICE.

marxism call for the abolition of private properties  and the family by means of violence , a destruction of the class based system of society, and advocates the destruction of state itself by means of violence, common ownership.
) abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purpose
_) a heavy progressive or graduated income tax
) abolition of all right of inheritance
) confiscation of the property of all emigrant and rebels
) centralization of credit in bank of the state by means of national banks with state capital and an exclusive monopoly
) centralization of means of communication and transport in the hand of state
) extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state, bringing into cultivation of waste land and improvement of soil generally in accordance with plan

Answer:

Marxism, as formulated by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, is a XIX-century theory of how Capitalism, and the class struggle it creates, will inevitably lead to the victory of Communism. This is why Neo-Marxism is customarily associated with postmodernism and is an intellectual label not a coherent belief system
