A lion's tongue is adapted for hunting, as it's rough enough to peel off the prey's skin. Lions also use their whiskers in hunting. The whiskers act like pulse sensors--during an attack, the lion uses its sensitive whiskers to locate the prey's pulse and then bite down to kill the animal.
