Silk is a natural protein fiber some forms of which can be woven into textiles . The protein fiber of silk is composed mainly of fibroin and are produced by certain insects larvae to form cacoons .

The steps involved in making silk are

I) Thread extraction

ii) Dyeing

iii) spinning

iv) weaving

v) Finishing

And this huge process required both skilled and unskilled labours . It contains a lot of physical and machinary works . Silk is used to make sarrie etc ... so it is a very useful meterial .
