Deccan plateau is the oldest landmass on the Earth.

That contains rocks, minerals, sedimentary rocks etc.  This is a very stable region and does not slide.  Its altitude varies from a few hundred meters to 800m or so.   There are many forests, narrow and broad valleys in this region.  There are some rounded hills and many mounds in this region. 

There are live rivers Godavari, Krishna in this.

Deccan plateau is bordered by Western Ghats on the West,  Eastern Ghats on the East. It is part of the Peninsular Plateau of India/Indian Subcontinent.
