five features of arid soil are as follows:-
1. it lacks in humus and moisture due to dry climate, high temp. and faster rate of evapouration
2. in some area common salt obtained in this soil due to evapouration of water.
3.after proper irrigation this can become cultivable.
4.this soil is found in weastern part of rajasthan, north gujarat and southern parts of haryana.
5.in the lower horizons of this soil kankar are found due to increasing calcium content downwards which restrict the infilteration of water.

a) Arid soil has low level of organic carbon, as biological activity is limited.

b) Soluble salts accumulate in arid soil as leaching is minimum, due to lack of water.

c) High level of calcium carbonate, gypsum, silica etc.

d) They have sandy to gravelly texture.

e) Colour of Arid soil ranges from red to brown.
