INDIA
We live in India. India is a large country. It has variety in all things but unity in all things.
Our country is divided into states, states are divided into and divisions.
Divisions are divided into districts and districts are divided into Tehsils and Tehsils are divided into gram panchayats.
This is the external structure of our country. The head of our country is the president. The powerful person is the prime of our country. The head of state is called chief minister. There are heads in on all levels.
We take pride in our Vedas and Puranas which are now being investigated and found to be true.
Indian Technology
Since 1999, May 11 is celebrated as National Technology Day to mark India’s technological advancements. President Pranab Mukherjee will be attending the National Technology Day celebrations in New Delhi this year, along with the Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Harsh Vardhan.
On May 11, 1998, India detonated three nuclear bombs in the Indian Army’s Pokhran Test Range.
Hansa 3, India’s first indigenous aircraft was first tested on the same day in 1998 in Bangalore.
Successful test firing of Trishul, a short range missile made in India, was also done on the same day.
Every year, on this day, the Technology Development Board of India awards various individuals with national awards for their contribution to indigenous technology.
Indian Army
India has one of the finest armies in the world. Our soldiers have proved their mettle in all theatres of wars since prehistoric times, hi recent times our soldiers were sent to the Congo, Suez, Indo-China and Korea on missions of peace.
During the last two World Wars our soldiers fought in Europe, Africa and the Middle East and won laurels for the British Empire. Our soldiers served in France and other countries also.
They helped to bring Hitler and his armies to their knees. Wherever they were sent, victory was theirs. It goes to the credit of the Indian Anny that the first Victoria Cross went to the credit of an Indian soldier.
Our soldiers have never surrendered. Their motto has always been "do or die". In the India-China war of October-November 1962 and later in the Indo-Pak war of September, 1965 one Indian soldier killed many times his enemy counterparts on various fronts.
If India retreated in the India-China war it was not for want of courage but for want of adequate weapons which the Chinese had and we did not. hi fact our soldiers were not even adequately clothed. As an American paper said, our soldiers were fighting on icy tops of the mountains in summer uniforms.
Indian police
The police is entrusted with the duty of stopping and controlling people who break laws. He makes people to abide by the law. One, who does not follow will be punished by the police. Police is responsible for the safety of our lives and property. Therefore, the role of a police officer is the significant. He acts as a liberator of the society.
A police officer is generally a man of good health. He wears a khaki uniform and carry a cane in hand. He ties a belt around his waist and wears only a shirt and pants. The officers of each state of India could be distinguished due to their different official symbols.
The policeman is assigned jobs at the police station and check posts. Occasionally, they are assigned to the locality of the city where there is fear of disruption and disorder.
Policemen play a decisive role at the public demonstrations and strikes. When the crowds become aggressive and violent, he also uses his stick to manage the crowd. When the situation deteriorates, they also resort to firing, but with the approval of his superiors.
The policemen gets poor salary, their standard of living is low. He has to support his family with that income. They keep working hard despite getting low insufficient salary. The policemen must be paid well and respected because they are the true protector of civil society of the nation.
