Tropical evergreen forests are found in between 5 degree and 10 degree north and South of the equator .This forest is very dense with trees of different species. The ground generally remains swampy and damp. They receive rainfall above 300 cm. Sunlight can penetrate hardly inside these forests. The evergreen forests are broad leaved and are tall enough to form a layering arrangement and have a canopy overhead. Main trees are mahogany ,Ebony and Rosewood .Mainly free animals like apes and monkeys ,reptiles, Snakes and varieties of birds like macaws are found here.
Deciduous forests are so called because the trees in these forests shed their leaves in the dry season to conserve the loss of moisture through evapotranspiration. These forests are divided into Tropical deciduous and Mid latitude deciduous forest .Tropical Deciduous forests are located in the Tropical Zone with trees like teak, Sam, shisham and peepal. Whereas the Mid latitude are located in the subtropical or mid latitude zones with trees like pine, oak, Maple and willow. These areas receive annual rainfall between 100 cm and 200 cm. Tiger ,deer ,buffaloes, crocodile are common animals found here.
