• Jute is obtained from the stem of the plant.It is rainy season crop.It will grow in humid and warm weather.
• Almost i think 85 °/• of the world's jute cultivation is done in ganges delta.It is cultivated in bangaledesh,china,India,myanmar
• In india it is grown in Bihar,Assam,odisha,Andhra pradesh.
• Jute plants are harvested after flowering and before they turn into seeds.The harvested plants are kept immersed in water for few days.It leads to rotting of the stem.It is done to soften tje tissues so that fibres can be seperated easily.
• This is called retting
• Then fibres are stripped feom the stalks in long strands,washed,dried and then woven into fabrics.
