»» \displaystyle\sf CO_2+H_2O \xrightarrow{Sunlight} C_6H_{12}O_6+O_2

  • \displaystyle\sf Balanced \ Equation : \ 6CO_2 + 6H_2O \longrightarrow C_6H_{12}O_6 + 6O_2

»» \displaystyle\sf CH_4+O_2\longrightarrow CO_2+H_2O

  • \displaystyle\sf Balanced \ Equation : \ CH_4 + 2O_2 \longrightarrow CO_2 + 2H_2O

»» \displaystyle\sf Al + O_2 \longrightarrow Al_2O_3

  • \displaystyle\sf Balanced \ Equation : \ 2Al + 3O_2 \longrightarrow 2Al_2O_3

»» \displaystyle\sf Ca(OH)_2 + HNO_3 \longrightarrow Ca(NO_3)_2 + H_2O

  • \displaystyle\sf Balanced\ Equation : \ Ca(OH)_2 + 2HNO_3 \longrightarrow Ca(NO_3)_2 + 2H_2O

Need for Balancing Equations

⨳ We need to balance an equation to make sure than number of atoms of an element in Reactant = Product.

⨳ Because we all know that as per the law of conservation of mass, Mass can neither be created nor destroyed in a chemical reaction.

⨳ We have to balance an equation when the number of atoms of an element in thr the reactant side is more or less then that of the product side to make sure that everything is the same and we obey the law.
