Asexual Reproduction: Chromosomes are diploid throughout the process. Sexual Reproduction: Meiosis is involved in cell division and mitosis continues the process during sexual reproduction. Asexual Reproduction: Mitosis, fission, budding and regeneration are involved in the cell division during asexual reproduction.

1. Asexual : Formation of zygote does not take place.

Sexual : Formation of zygote take place.

2. Asexual : Only one individual is involved.

Sexual : Two individuals are involved.

3. Asexual : Fusion of gametes do not take place.

Sexual : Fusion of gametes take place.

4. Asexual : It is a rapid process.

Sexual : It is a slower process.

Examples :

Asexual Reproduction : Amoeba ( Binary Fission), Hydra ( Budding) etc.
