Some difference between speed and velocity are as follows :

i) Velocity has direction so it is a vector quantity but speed lacks direction so it is a scalar quantity.

ii) Speed is called distance divided by time wheareas velocity is displacement divided by time.

iii) Speed is change in distance and velocity is change in displacement.

iv) Speed cannot be negative in any case but velocity can be negative or positive and sometimes the value of velocity can be zero also.
