Vasectomy is a surgical procedure performed on males. It is a permanent form of sterilisation or contraception. The male vas deferens are severed and then tied or sealed to prevent sperms from entering the ejaculate and thereby prevents fertilisation.

Tubectomy is also a method of permanent sterilisation. This surgical procedure is performed on females, where the fallopian tubes are blocked so that the ova or eggs are prevented from travelling to the uterus. Hence, fertilisation cannot take place.

Answer:

vasectomy

A surgical operation conducted on males is a vasectomy. It is a type of sterilization or contraception that is permanent. In order to prevent sperm from entering the ejaculate and thus prevent fertilisation, the male vas deferens are severed and then locked or sealed.

Tubectomy

Tubectomy is also a permanent sterilization process. This surgical procedure is performed on women in whom the fallopian tubes are blocked, preventing the ova or eggs from passing to the uterus. Fertilization, therefore does not take place.
