Features of parenchyma: They form basic packing tissue. Cells of this tissue are relatively unspecialised and may be oval, rounded or elongated in shape. Cell walls are highly thickened due to lignin deposition.

1. Parenchyma basicallyare  plant tissues are mainly concerned in storage of food.

2. Parenchyma,is located in  fleshy stem, which  act as water storage purpose tissues.

3. In hydrophytes large air cavities are produced internally in  these tissues. These types of tissues are called aerenchyma.

4. In leaf, these parenchyma, tissues contain chloroplasts and benefit photosynthesis which  are called collenchyma.

5. Sometimes these parenchyma, tissues become melismatic and form cork cambium and cambium in the location of root, producing  secondary growth.
