Four institutional efforts made at the global level for resource conservation are-
1. The Club of Rome at the international level, campaigned for resource conservation for the very first time in a more structured and organized way in 1968.
2. The Gandhian Philosophy in 1974 was introduced once again by Schumacher in his own book named “Small is Beautiful”.
3. In 1987 Brundtland Commission Report presented the actual abstract of ‘sustainable development’ and campaigned for it as a means for conservation of the resource. This was later published in a book named “Our Common Future”.
4. The first ‘International Earth Summit’ in June 1992 was held in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, in which 100 State heads met for reporting urgent issues of environmental prevention and socio-economic establishment at the global level.
