This national festival is celebrated on October 2 every year to remember the birth of Mohandas Karamchand (2nd October 1869 - 30th January 1948). Mahatma Gandhi who has given the title of ''Father of Nation" and he was a great follower of peace and non-violence.
This is considered to be one of the most significant days in the history of India. The constitution of India formed on 26th January 1950 and become a sovereign state. This main event is held at Rajpath, Delhi and then celebrated at a large scale in the country.
