The four solution of given equation are (4,0) ,(0,-2),(6,1) and (8,2).

Given:

Equation x - 2y =4

To Find:

Any four solutions of the given equation.

Solution:

The given equation is of the form ax +by +c=0

Here, a=1,b=-2,c=-4

A linear equation in two variables has an infinite solution.

To find a solution, we have to assume a value for one variable and by substituting the assumed value in the equation, other variable values are found.

Put y=0 in the equation

⇒ x-2(0)=4

⇒x=4

∴(4,0)

put x=0 in the equation

⇒0-2y=4

⇒y=-4/2

⇒y = - 2

∴ (0,-2)

Put y=1 in the equation

⇒ x-2(1)=4

⇒x=4+2

⇒x = 6

∴(6,1)

Put y=2in the equation

⇒ x-2(2)=4

⇒x=4+4

⇒x = 8

∴(8,2)

The four solution of given equation are (4,0) ,(0,-2),(6,1) and (8,2).
