Answer:

(a)2x + y = 7(1)

On putting x=0 in equation 1

2x+y=7

2×0+y=7

0+y=7

Y=7

So( 0, 7) is a solution of given equation.

let y=0

2x+y=7

2x+0=7

2x=7

X= 7/2

So(7/2,0) is a solution of given equation.

let x = 1

2x+y=7

2×1+y=7

2+y=7

Y= 7-2

Y=5

(1,5) is the solution.

let x = 2

2x+y=7

2×2+y=7

4+y=7

Y= 7-4

Y= 3

The solution is (2,3)

x - y = 17

when x = 0

0 - y = 17

y = - 17

when x = 1

1 - y = 17

- y = 17 - 1

- y = 16

y = - 16

when x = 2

2 - y = 17

- y = 17 - 2

- y = 15

y = - 15

when x = 3

3 - y = 17

- y = 17 - 3

- y = 14

y = - 14

(0, -17) (1, -16) (2, -15) (3, -14) are four solutions
