Four steps are

Take a candle
Burn it
Flow the exhaled air on it
You will notice the candle goes off,

This shows the presence of co2 in exhaled air.

Apparatus:

To prove that CO2 is produced during respiration, we need Germinating seed, conical flask, small test tube containing KOH, small thread, bent capillary tube, beaker and cork.

After setting up the apparatus, we observe

Observations:

- Measure the water level before the experiment

- During the reaction, record the water level rise in the tube

Results:

- Germinating seeds absorb oxygen of conical flask and release CO2

- Released CO2 is absorbed by KOH

- Water level rises up in capillary to fill space created by gas.

Hence proved that germinating seeds give out CO2 during respiration.
