\mathfrak{\green{Answer.}}A homologous series in organic chemistry is a group of organic compounds (compounds that contain C atoms) that differ from each other by one methylene (CH2 ) group. ... For example, methane and ethane are homologues and belong to the same homologous series. They differ from each other by one CH2 group.

Homologous series is the series of compound in which the compounds have same functional groups & member of the series differ by number of repeat units they contain .

The alcohols in which one -OH group is attached to saturated carbon form homologous series. The formula of the homologous series of alcohol is CnH(2n+1)-OH.

The first member of the series is CH₃OH

The second member of the series is C₂H₅OH

The third member of the series is C₃H₇OH

In this series the repeat unit is -CH₂
