Answer:

To answer your question, what is Shylock's attitude towards Antonio, he hates  Antonio.

Shylock does not like Antonio in the story. He mentioned his hatred for Antonio when he described him as " I hate him for he is a Christian".

Other reasons for this hatred include how Shylock had lent money interest free which is what compromises Shylocks' own ways of money lending techniques, because he actually charges. He thinks that this is wrong as it affects his income. He also does not like Antonio because Antonio hates Jews. He wants to take revenge throughout the entire play.

Later when Antonio gets arrested Shylock refuses to even negotiate with the man. Even when Shylock was offered a deal with him ending up thrice the money lent in the first place, he refuses to take it because he hated Antonio that much.

The crisis comes about in the play when decisions must be made for the casket at the hands of the prince, if he fails would have to remain unmarried for the rest of his life. On another side, Lancelot Gobbo is looking for ways to runaway. There is planning going on to marry Lorenzo and Jessica.

Answer:

Explanation:

Antonia had borrowed money from Shylock, who was a money lender. The deal was that in case Antonio fails to repay the loan in time, Shylock will extract a pound of flesh from his body.

Antonio failed to repay the loan in time, and he was dragged to the court by Shylock to make sure that the deal was carried out. With this, we understand that Shylock is a ruthless man who has no sympathy for Antonia.
