Answer:

Mountains provide for the freshwater needs of more than half of humanity, and are, in effect, the water towers of the world. The world's mountains encompass some of the most spectacular landscapes, a great diversity of species and habitat types, and distinctive human communities.

Plains in many areas are important for agriculture because where the soils were deposited as sediments they may be deep and fertile, and the flatness facilitates mechanization of crop production; or because they support grasslands which provide good grazing for livestock.

Plateaus are very useful because they have rich mineral deposits. Many of the mining areas in the world are located in the plateau regions. For example, the African plateau is famous for gold and diamond mining.

Hope this helps, Please mark as brainliest, and have a good day ;-)
