Answer: The sources of irrigation in village Palampur are: -

1) Rain - It is one of the basic naturally occurring sources of irrigation and they are not limited. In Palampur the land under cultivation has to be dependant on rainfall which acts as an important source of irrigation.

2) Tube wells - With the emergence of the green revolution in the late 1960s, electrically run tube wells were installed ,which irrigated the land in Palampur very efficiently and was one of the modern farming techniques. Thus Tubewells are also important sources of irrigation which pump water from water table beneath the surface.

3) Dams - Reservoirs created by dams not only suppress flood but also provide water for irrigation,hence dams are also a good source of irrigation in palampur
