Fungi
These are eukaryotic , multicellular heterotrophic absorptive organisms. Fungi are heterotrophic they obtain their nutrition from dead and decaying organic matter therefore these are called saprobiotic or saprobe . Some fungi depend on other living plants and animals for their nutrition Such fungi are known as parasite . these fungi causes diseases in plants and animals . Some species of fungi form permanent mutualistic relationship with members of blue green algae . This is called symbiosis. the organisms formed by such mutualistic symbiotic relations are called lichens
Fungi are filamentous but unicellular yeast is an exception . Thin thread like or filamentous structures are known as mycelium . The cell wall of fungi is made up of chitin and other polysaccharides. Fragmentation and budding are common methods of vegetative reproduction in fungi spore formation is main method of asexual reproduction, while sexual reproduction takes place by special types of spores like ascospores and basidiospores Example yeast , mushroom
