Roots of leguminous plantsv(gram,moong,urad,peas,beans,etc) hove nodules . Bacteria belonging to genus Rhizobium live in these nodolules and convert atmospheric nitrogen into soluble nitrates . These nitrogen compounds are used by leguminous plants .Rhizobium cannot make its food and depends an the plant for it .
