Factors that affect erosion are transportation, deposition, type of soil, rain, vegetation, surface area, slope length and gradient.
Erosion occurs at a higher rate, when soil is of a certain type. For example- clay soil does not erode quickly. The amount of rain and the plants around, that bind the soil also decide the rate of erosion.
Slope length and gradient impact erosion by the amount of soil eroded as an increase in gradient and length of slope results in soil erosion.
