It's because copper and aluminium were easily available in the market to the common people , so they alss started making coins out of copper and aluminium . They were not able to sperate the fake one and real one.

Muhammad bin Tughlaq was a learned man with an open mind, well versed in religion and  philosophy

 He is remembered for his experiments most of which failed due to some reason or the other.

 His first major experiment was the transfer of capital from Delhi to Devgiri in the Deccan. The

purpose was to control his southern Indian territories better.

 He ordered many of the officers and important men of his court, including many Sufi saints, to

shift to Devgiri which was renamed Daulatabad.

 Daulatabad was more than 1500 km away. Many people died on the way, since the journey took

place in the summer.

 Finally, Muhammad bin Tughlaq decided to abandon Daulatabad and return to Delhi within two

years.

 Another bold decision of Muhammad bin Tughlaq was the introduction of token currency.

 He issued a bronze coin with the same value as the silver tanka, the regular currency.

 The idea of token currency was new in India. So, it created confusion among traders and

common people.

 People soon started forging the new coin freely, and the government failed to prevent this

crime. So, the coins soon lost their value in the market.
