Small farmers

Small-holder farmers are vital for India's agriculture and rural economy. Small-holder farmers - defined as those marginal and sub-marginal farm households that own or/and cultivate less than 2.0 hectare of land - constitute about 78 per cent of the country's farmers (at Agricultural Census 1990-91)

Medium farmers

Medium farmers are those who have only food for there consumption and little money they either work on there field or on large farmers land. Small farmers are those who work on others farm and do not have surplus and take loan for money.

Large farmers

A farmer with own big plots of land and who do not cultivate their land and instead,hire landless labourers to work on their fields is called large farmer.They cultivate their land on their own or with the help of other small farmers.
