Write in detail the different uses of minerals.
Answers
Answer:
“Minerals” is used with a different meaning in physical sciences and in health sciences (where it refers to chemical elements known to be essential to growing and maintaining a healthy body). These essential chemical elements needed to maintain life are largely made available to life forms via the action of the atmosphere and water cycle on rocks, which contain most of these elements in some solid form.
In materials sciences, geology and related engineering fields, minerals are the naturally-occurring crystalline solids that make up the rocky part of our planet and the non-organic particles of soils. We need these minerals to manufacture anything we can’t obtain from living organisms (plant or animal products), to provide us with shelter, use sun, wind or water as energy sources that can be transported, and for most of the technologies that extend our means of communications beyond our voice alone. We also need minerals to get the materials from which we manufacture almost every tool and technology we use to raise animals and plants and turn them into useful products.
