Scientific Notation is also known as Standard Form and it is a special way of writing large numbers.

For Example -:

3000 ⇒ 3 × 10^{3}

So the question is why did I represent 3000 in the form of 3 × 10^{3}?

Answer :

This is because ⇒

⇒ 3000 =  3 × 1000

⇒ 1000 = 10^{3}

⇒ 3000 = 3 × 10^{3}

∴ 3000 and 3 × 10^{3} have the same value, just that they are shown in different ways.

So for 8000000, the scientific or standard notation would be -

⇒ 8000000 ⇒  8 × 1000000

⇒ 1000000 = 10^{6}

⇒ 8000000 = 8 ×  10^{6}

∴ 8000000 is equal to 8 ×  10^{6} in its scientific notation.
