Echo obviously falls in love with Narcissus,although Narcissus was not interested.Echo still proceed to pine over Narcissus until her body withers away & only her voice is left.Therefore it forced Narcissus stops for a drink at a small pond.Immediately Narcissus sees his reflection in the water of the pool he falls hopelessly in love with himself.When he was unable to capture his reflection,Narcissus stays by the pond until he starves to death.Pretty straightforward,really.
