In India map it is clearly shown that it consists of 3 landmasses.

a) Central Highlands(Northern part of Peninsular plateau)

b) Deccan Plateau(Southern part)

c) Chota Nagpur plateau

The Peninsular plateau created beacause Gondwana broke into parts.

As in image it is shown that India is at north of Antarctica. It splits into number of parts and created India.

Splitting of Gondwana created Australia, Antarctica, India, South America, Central Europe etc.

The Eastern and Western ghats are covering the Peninsular plateau.

The central highlands have rivers like betwa, chenab.

The Deccan plateau mainly consists of land and it is the largest portion of Peninsular plateau in triangular size.
