SIR

Subject : Concern regarding open main holes in the city .

Newspapers being the cheapest and most common mode of mass communication , I ( Name ) , a resident of......( Place ) wish to use its full potential in creating awareness among the masses about the open main holes in our city .

Having a look at the roads , there are a lot of open main holes . I completely understand that these are opened for. A purpose but they need to be closed also . Or else they become the invitations to danger. If they remain open , it can result in fatal chaos and road accidents . It puts a toll on the lives of innocent people.

There has to be quick actions taken to prevent any further accidents or injury .
The holes need to be closed as soon as possible and if they cannot be closed due to some of the other reason , then there must be warning signs put up so that people become aware and take the necessary action.

Above mentioned are the views of a laymen whose only purpose in writing this letter is to gear the concerned authorities into action . Hope my letter finds some space in the columns of your prestigious newspaper to bring the awareness among the masses.

With Regards

Yours sincerely

Dear Editor,

Keeping recess as part of our children’s daily school activities is not a luxury, but a critical part of their fundamental development.

Unstructured, unplanned, spontaneous, and self-motivated play is on the decline as children spend less and less time outside at parks and playgrounds and have their recess time shortened or removed from our school curriculums.

We know that children who play are healthier and suffer fewer obesity and obesity-related health problems, such as diabetes and heart disease. We also value the fact that children who play do better in school and develop cognitive skills that are positively linked to learning and academic performance. During unstructured play, children also learn the social skills that help them become happy and well-adjusted adults. (Stanford School of Medicine study, 2007)

We wish to raise this community’s children to become healthy, happy, and successful adults – let’s start by giving them the time and space to play.

Sincerely,
_______
