Dear Sir,

This letter is to bring to your notice about the difficulties and problems faced by the people who reside in urban slums.

In a country like India, where a large population is below the poverty line, slums are a pretty common sight. They are found in even the most civilised cities of our country. These slum dwellers, mostly include economically inefficient people, poor labourers or people drastically affected by sudden unfortunate changes (natural disasters, manipulation, poor planning or social conflicts). So, I strongly feel that these people should get some kind of support from the Indian Government. It can include the availability of clean public toilets, affordable clinics nearby, provision of food and water and probably the most important one- good employment opportunities, so they can support themselves and do not have to live in slums.

I sincerely hope you take measures for these unfortunate slum dwellers and no citizen of India ever has to live in an unhygienic area like a slum.
