Sub- Nuisance caused by loudspeakers during Durga puja.
Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I want to highlight the nuisance caused by loudspeakers blaring music and bhajans during Durga puja. At this time in the year school and college students are preparing for or facing exams. Such loud sounds disturb our studies during the evenings, when we need to study. If such loudspeakers also blare during the late hours at night, they disturb the sleep of all citizens.
I suggest that the municipal authorities should take strong action against the persons responsible for creating such a disturbance by either penalising them with heavy fones or banning them altogether. Further, the authorities may ask the concerned persons to keep the sounds emating from their loudspeakers to a tolerable level. In this way, the sound will not disturb students who are concentrating on their studies.
I hope that the authorities will read this and take action accordingly so that my concern will find a positive response.
Thank you
Yours sincerely
Sinnie

Subject: The nuisance of insensitive use of loudspeakers.
Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily newspaper, I would like to express my displeasure on the excessive use of loudspeakers (PA Systems) in our towns and cities.
Festivals are a time of joy everyone look forward to each year. Festivals are a part of our personal, religious, and social life. The problem is not celebration of festivals, but the manner in which they are celebrated. Most of the important festivals are celebrated using loudspeakers at high volume throughout the day and all night long. There are restaurants, cafes and night clubs where loud music is played late into the night in the name of birthday celebrations and parties.
These are all public disturbance and a major cause of noice pollution. Noise pollution is known to cause headache, irritation, and other health problems. We must also have consideration for the sick people who want quiet time to rest and to sleep properly.
They disturb the sleep of the public. It interfere with the students studying for exams or doing their homeworks. The irresponsible use of loudspeakers will adversely affect their performance in exams and their future career.
Therefore, I feel that the use of loudspeakers and loud music should be banned or restricted in residential areas and defaulters should be severely penalised.
Yours sincerely,
