electronic configuration of the chlorine:-1s2,2s2,2p6,3s2,3p5
outer most shell of clorine is "7" i.e is 3s2,3p5
when the "H" & "Cl" undergoes chemicals bond the Cl gain the electronic configuration of nearest inactic gas element i.e is Ar - Argon because Cl gained the electronic configuration of the stable element by gaining of one electron from H
H gains the electronic configuration of the nearest inactic gas element i.e He - Helium because H gained the electronic configuration of the stable gas element by gaining of one electron from Cl
