The lifecycle of a honey bee consists of three main stages: the larval, pupal, and adult stages. Within a normal hive situation, a single queen bee lays fertilized and unfertilized eggs. Fertilized eggs can hatch worker and queen bees, unfertilized eggs hatch drone bees.

Life history of honey bee:-
1. About 2000 eggs/ days are laid after the fertilization by queen.
2. One egg in each brood cell.
3. The egg hatches in about 3 days.
4. After hatching a white larva that is called as Grub emerges which is feeded by workers, that is known as Nurse bees.
5. From the 4th day all the worker bees provides food which is consist.
6. From the 7th day, Royal jelly is secreted from the maxillary glands of worker bees. Larva, pupa & queen bee are feed on this royal jelly.
7. From 12th to 18th day, secretion of wax from wax gland also starts.
8. Eggs destined to become drones are unfertilized & are laid in cells of slightly greater diameter than those of workers.
9. Drones are developed parthenogenetically.
10. Workers lock the egg hatched in royal chamber & then fed with royal jelly so that it may be converted into the queen.
11. 15-16 days is the time required to produce a queen from egg to adult.
