squamous - lining of blood vessels, lymph vessels, alveoli of lungs and Bowman's capsule of nephron in kidney.

cuboidal - PCT of nephron, ducts of glands, ovary and testies, thyroid follicles.

columnar - Oesophagus, stomach.

  • Bowman's capsule ( podocytes ) → Filteration.
  • Loop of Henle → Exchange of materials.
  • Wall of alveoli → Exchange of gases.
  • Wall of blood vessels → Exchange of materials. ( Endothelium )

Location of columnar epithelium:

  • Lining of stomach and intestine.
  • rectum
  • fallopian tubes

Location of cuboidal epithelium:

  • Thyroid fellicles.
  • Sweat glands
  • Ovary and testis ( gonads ).
