This is found as the lining of the mouth, oesophagus, and including blood vessels and in the alveoli of the lungs. Cuboidal epithelium has cells whose height and width are approximately the same (cube shaped). Columnar epithelium has cells taller than they are wide (column-shaped).

Squamous tissues are present in the walls of capillaries and air sacs in lungs.

Columnar tissues are present in stomach, intestines, rectum, fallopian tubes, endometrium and respiratory bronchioles.

Cuboidal tissues are present in lining of blood vessels, kidney tubules and walls of respiratory bronchioles.
