DIFFUSION: The movement of particles (air) from a lower concentration to higher concentration is called diffusion.

OSMOSIS: The movement of water from a lower concentration level to a higher concentration level through a semipermeable membrane is called as osmosis.

Since , diffusion and osmosis both are different phenomenon , the have many differences but the main difference lies in their definitions ,i.e.

Diffusion is the passage of air from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration .

While , Osmosis is the passage of water from a region of higher concentration to a lower one.

Therefore , the main difference is that in diffusion air is transferred and in osmosis water is transferred .
