Answer:

When metal hydrogen carbonates react with acids , The products obtained are their respective salt ,water and Carbon dioxide gas.

Equation type :-

Metal Hydrogen carbonate + Acid —> Salt + Water + Carbon dioxide

Here ,

Carbon dioxide is the gas evolved.

We can test it by passing the gas in lime water , its turns milky white which indicates that the resulted has is Carbon dioxide.

Example :-

Na2CO3 + HCl —> NaCl + H2O+CO2

Sodium hydrogen carbonate + Hydrochloric acid —> Sodium chloride + Water + Carbon dioxide.

==========

Hydrogen Carbonates /bi carbonates mean the same .

When , Metal carbonated react with acids also , the product is same i.e salt + water + Carbon dioxide.

•Non metallic oxides are acidic in nature

••

•To know whether the substance is acidic or basic,we use litmus paper or pH scale (strength of acid /base).
