13 killed 25 injured in building collapse
NALASOPARA, August 27 : 13 people were killed about 25 were seriously injured when Neela Apartments at Sector Nalasopara collapsed last night. The incident occured at about the morning when most residents were indoors.
“Major renovation works carried out in the ground floor recenti might have weakened the pillars,” a BMC engineer was quoted as saying. The search for the victims buried under the debris is still on Those who escaped with minor injuries are being treated at nearby hospitals. Victims with serious injuries are shifted to various hospital in Mumbai city. Government machinery as well as non-governmental organizations are engaged in the relief operations round the clock.
