This morning, 5 people died as a result of water in lungs. In Bihar, 1 man was killed yesterday and several hurt. The SP of Jehanabad stated that the situation was tense and needed to be under control before it would get to late.

Jehanabad, 04th January: Devastating floods have struck Jehanabad and its surroundings. Due to the incessant rains water from the canal has overflown flooding the low lying areas near it.
Due to the recent Municipal Work of road building huge boulders had been kept to be broken down. The overflowing water was obstructed by these boulders causing it to flow back into the city and flood it.
Over half of the city remains submerged under water. There is no means of transport. Locals have been shifted to make shift shelters. Helicopters are dropping food and water.
If the rain doesn't stop a catastrophic disaster is feared.
