write Newton's formula for the speed of sound in a gas.why and what correction was applied by laplace in this formula

Newton's formula
v =  \sqrt{e \div  \beta }
here e=cofficient of elasticity of medium
B=Density of medium

Here, v=280m/s
but actual value =332m/s

so, there was a difference of 52m/s

Laplase made a change for change from adiabatic to isothermal..
