every action has an equal an opposite reaction"

examples are:

1)when you jump, your legs apply a force to the ground, and the ground applies and equal and opposite reaction force that propels you into the air.

2) a horse pulls a cart ,a person walks on the ground, hammer pushes a nail, magnets attract paper clip.In all these examples a force exerted on one object and that force is exerted by another object.

3)We can walk forward

because, when one foot pushes

backward against the ground, the

ground pushes forward on that foot

(Newton’s third law). The two forces

shown act on different objects.

SOLUTION

Newton's third law states that : "Every action has a equal and opposite reaction".

For example : if you push your friend with a 5N force you will experience a force of 5N in direction opposite to the direction in which you pushed him.

1. While walking on a road, the person pushes the road backwards. The road exerts an equal and opposite reaction force on the feet of the person to make him move forward.

2. When a gun is fired, it exerts a force on the bullet, whereas the bullet exerts an equal and opposite force on the gun, consequently the gun recoils.
