Free Radical Polymerization is a method of polymerization by which a polymer forms by the successive addition of free-radical building blocks. Free radicals can be formed by a number of different mechanisms, usually involving separate initiator molecules.Free-radical polymerization is a key synthesis route for obtaining a wide variety of different polymers and material composites.

In polymer chemistry, polymerization is a process of reacting monomer molecules together in a chemical reaction to form polymer chains or three-dimensional networks. There are many forms of polymerization and different systems exist to categorize them.

Answer :

Free radical polymerization : It is a method of polymerization in which a polymer is formed by the continuous addition of free radical.

It consists of three fundamental steps.

1) Initiation             2) Propagation            3) Termination

Initiation : Free radicals are formed in initiation step.

Propagation : Each free radical combines with the other molecule to generate a new longer free radical.

Termination : Two free radicals combine together to form a final molecule.

Example is shown below.
