Lamarckinsm is an evolution theory based on use and disuse of organs.
▪ It states that evolution is caused by gradual advancement of organs which is used persistently by an organism. On the other hand, the organs which is not used becomes rudimentary and disintegrates.
▪ proofs are mainly vestigial organs in many animals.
▪ Lamarck explained it with an example of extending length of giraffes neck.
•first it was fed on shrubs so small neck.
• gradually shrubs become sparse and it started grazing
herbs and trees.
• thus through persistent usage of neck to eat leaves at
larger height caused it to become long.
