Heterotrophic nutrition. Heterotrophic nutrition is the mode of nutrition in which organisms depend upon other organisms to survive. All animals and non green plants are heterotrophic. Heterotrophic organisms have to acquire and take in all the organic substances they need to survive.

Heterotrophic mode of nutrition is divided into 3 types :-

  • Sacrophytic
  • Parasitic
  • Holo-zoic organisms

SACROPHYTIC NUTRITION :-

It is a nutrition in which organisms get their food from dead and decaying organisms.They breakdown their food outside their body and absorb it.

PARASITISM :-

It is the nutrition in which organisms get their food from their host organisms without killing them.

HOLOZOIC ORGANISMS :-

It is the type of nutrition in which organisms takes food directly and digest it and absorbs it.
